5 years ago I made the best decision of my life - to leave my small town and move to the city. And well, the rest is history. The experiences I’ve had, the lessons and knowledge I’ve gained and the mistakes I’ve made have helped me become the woman I am today, which will only be perfected in the years to come. I’m so lucky to have made some of the truest and kindest...

Anonymous asked: Can you tell me how your found the first year at Bouve academically. I am concerned that all the core classes at once without an elective will be a real slog. Were the public health classes interesting. What was the class size for those? Did you mind waiting to take electives until your junior year? I have other interests outside of the sciences so I am worrying about this. I am an accepted...

Anonymous asked: I got into NEU for the 6 year pharmacy program, but I'm worried about how much it'll cost during the fifth and sixth year. Is there a lot of aid for those years and do you have any idea how much it could cost?

Monday.
It’s 4:15 in the morning, and I can’t sleep. I was there. RIGHT where it happened. Mile 26. Before I came to Boston, Marathon Monday was something I had never even heard of. I had no idea of its significance and was pleasantly surprised my freshman year, 5 years ago, to have it off. It was only in the last few years that I really realized how it wasn’t just another holiday in...

Anonymous asked: Hi, Taarika! I'm going to be a freshman this fall at northeastern and I am super excited to begin my journey. I am from out of state and I was wondering if it is common for northeastern students to have a part time job given that the system is so centered around co-ops and internships. Thanks for your blog!

Just got an email about picking up commencement tickets. I can’t believe graduation is a little over a month away! Time has FLOWN! As sad as I am to graduate, I’m finally starting to get excited for the future and for a new beginning. It’s kind of like how I felt when I was graduating high school- it’s a very bittersweet ending, but it’s nice to know that good things...

Okay, so excuse my little “scream and shout” BUT I got into PT school at Mass. General Hospital today!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only my top choice BUT the #7 program in the country! Boston can’t get rid of me just yet! Let me tell you, none of this would have been possible without my experiences at Northeastern. This school has opened so many doors and I’m so grateful especially...

Anonymous asked: Hi, I got deferred by Northeastern. I was wondering if you knew what email/person I can contact to update them on what I've been doing since December. For instance, I organized this awesome charity drive and I wanted to show them a picture of the donations and explain what I did, etc. Thanks!

Capstone is a project that most seniors complete during their final year/semester here at Northeastern. It is basically a showcase of the knowledge, skills and passions they’ve acquired during their undergraduate career. Check out what these seniors did!

simply-unstoppable asked: Hello, I've been accepted EA as a Health Science major and I plan on going to medical school after wards. My question is, with co-ops will it take me five years to finish my undergraduate degree, or is there a way for me to still finish in four years like most traditional bachelor's degrees?

Anonymous asked: Hi! I was wondering about the honors program. Do you know the average stats of students admitted and if it would be beneficial to a health science major? I've heard many mixed opinions about honors programs and how beneficial they are when applying to medical school. Thanks!

Anonymous asked: Hi! I was also accepted to Bouve EA as a Pharmacy major. I was also accepted to MCPHS. May I ask, although there might be a bit of bias, why NEU over MCPHS? I really like NEU a lot more, but I know someone from Boston who says MCPHS gets better co-op due to it being specifically a health science uni? Also, how is student life like at NEU? I'm so excited! :D

As I’m sure you’ve heard, on Friday, Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT experienced an awful tragedy. I’m a CT resident, and live only 20 minutes away from there. It makes my heart ache to think of the innocent lives lost, and how close to home this really hits. My heart goes out to the lives lost and the suffering families. Newtown has always been a strong town, with...

This past weekend, as I mentioned a few weeks ago, my friends and I participated in the Husky Hunt- a 24-hour scavenger hunt around Boston against 50 teams of 12! We were given multiple pages of lists of tasks we had to complete, with photo evidence. Here’s a few! -Take a picture of your whole team in ONE bathtub.
